The speakers list for your meeting, on everyone's phone
Who raised their hand first? With TalkingStick, the chair no longer has to remember. Participants put themselves on the list, the chair gives the floor and everyone sees whose turn it is.
Works in the browser. Nothing to install.

How it works
-
Create a meeting
Make an account and a room for your group, for example "Board" or "Members meeting". Put the meeting in it on a date.
-
Share the code
Participants open the link on their phone or laptop and type their name. They don't need an account. You let them in.
-
Give the floor
Anyone who wants to speak joins the list with a topic, comment, question or point of order. You see the queue, start the speaker and the timer runs.
What makes it easier
In the room, online or hybrid
Everyone uses the same list, whether they sit in the room or join from home through Teams or Zoom. Sound and video stay where they were.
Speaking time in view
Whoever has the floor sees it on their screen, with the time running. Handy when you want to limit speaking time.
Replies under the right topic
A question or comment sits under the topic it is about. So you see what is still open.
A fair order
The list is in the order people signed up. No more arguing about who was first, and the quiet members get their turn too.
Points of order stand out
A point of order shows in red on the list. The chair sees it at once and decides when it comes up.
Live for everyone
When someone signs up or the chair gives the floor, everyone sees it straight away. Nobody has to refresh.
Who it's for
Anywhere more people want to speak than there is time for.
Everyone sees whose turn it is.
Questions
Is TalkingStick free?
Yes, while it is in testing. If a paid version comes later, you will hear well in advance.
Do participants need an account?
No. Only the person who runs the meeting makes an account. Participants open the link, type a name and the chair lets them in.
Does it work for online or hybrid meetings?
Yes. Everyone uses the same speakers list, in the room or at home. For sound and video you just keep using Teams, Zoom or the room.
What is a point of order?
A remark about how the meeting is run, not about the topic itself. For example: speaking time is up, the agenda isn't being followed or someone can't be heard. A point of order goes before the regular speakers list. In TalkingStick it shows in red on the list, so the chair sees it at once and decides when it is taken.
Do I need to install an app?
No, it works in the browser on phones, tablets and laptops. You can add it to your home screen, then it opens like an app.
Which languages does it speak?
These pages are in English and Dutch, the app screens in English.
Where is the data kept?
On a dedicated server in Frankfurt, in the EU. No data is sold or used for advertising.
Would your group use this?
TalkingStick is new. Whether I turn it into a complete product depends on your answer. It's three questions.
